Local Information
Wake County
Wake County is located in the Northeast central region of North Carolina, with the state capital, Raleigh, as its county seat. Near the center of the state, it is a convenient location between the mountains and the beach, and it is one of the counties within the Triangle Area, serving as an ideal location to live when working in the Research Triangle Park. Wake County provides the best of both worlds: a thriving metropolis with access to a vast range of cultural, educational, and entertainment venues. From ice hockey with the Carolina Hurricanes to fine arts at the North Carolina Museum of Art, from access to numerous lakes and rivers such as the Neuse and Falls Lake, Wake County is open to a highly diverse population and can serve its needs from A to Z. The educational system is considered one of the best in the state, from public and private primary/secondary education to eight different higher learning institutions including North Carolina State University and the Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
